How to Freeze Cauliflower
1. Cut the cauliflower head into bite-sized florets & wash them.
2. Blanch in boiling water for no more than 3 minutes. Immediately remove them and place in ice water for another 3 minutes (this stops the cooking process and helps prevent overcooking.)
3.
Drain.
4.
Spread cauliflower on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Freeze for about a half an hour.
5.
Place in freezer bags and seal after removing air. Label with name of contents and date.
The suggested maximum storage time for frozen cauliflower (for best flavor) is 6 months.
Suggestions: Use cauliflower, lightly steamed as a vegetable side dish. (For variation, try adding a little seasoning, or even cheese.) Cauliflower can also be used in vegetable bakes, casseroles, soups, etc.
